The absolute biggest con, however, and the reason I'm writing a negative review, has nothing to do with the actual food. It's the cancellation process. Once you sign up for their monthly subscription, there's no way to cancel online--you are forced to call them.

Calling them means you have to wait on the phone for at least 10 minutes to speak to an agent, who will then try their best to talk you out of cancelling their program. They will only allow you to delay your order for up to 60 days online, and not stop it all together. This is an otherwise great program that works for some people, but I do not like the shady business practices they employ, and it did not work for me.

I'm very impressed by this system. I was as skeptical as a person could possibly be having avoided these "preserved" diets for at least seven years for fear that the ingestion of artificial foods would be ultimately unhealthy. I have carefully studied the labels and I still can't figure out how the formulation so successfully incorporates protein and fiber at ideal rates to curb hunger, but it's truly amazing.

And somehow there aren't preservatives, so that's incredible too. It might be some kind of magic--I'm still not sure.

I thought I would be outright starving based on the portion sizes, but I found myself less hungry than I have been I years despite tripling my exercise routine. I lost one pound per day, and my BMI was already in healthy range so I didn't expect this rate of ketogenesis at all. I'm surprised, impressed and optimistic.

Most of the foods are delicious, and it's nice to feel like a human again and eat a blessed cookie once in a while with 8g of protein, how do they do it! Also, the convenience of throwing these things into my purse or travel bag or car truly cannot be beat. Very well done, Nutrisystem! This diet is great and not. You could seriously make your own low calorie food that would taste better.

However, if you struggle with starting a diet or struggle with coming up with low calorie meals this is very helpful. I like the food in this box better than the home style box.

The breakfasts, snacks, and lunches i like enough. I do not like the dinners in these boxes. I bought this box just to make things easy for me because I struggle with dieting and my friend lost a lot of weight on this diet. I lost on this and it made it easier for me to stick to a low calorie diet on my own after a week on this.

I would recommend this if you struggle with dieting and especially if you struggle with getting started or if you need to just drop a few pounds in a week. For the life of me I can't understand Marie Osmond living on that stuff for 6 months.

I couldn't live on it for 1 week. I know why you lose 7 pounds in 2 weeks, you'd rather starve yourself than have the Nutrisystem food. Lots of sodium also and since I am on a salt restricted program, they were not good for me.

The rep went on to offer replacement of the damaged food items I had received and encouraged me to give their company another try. I accepted a ready-made menu that containing some items that I did not enjoy. In the future, I will make a point to select food items that I now know to be more to my liking than others.

I am very pleased and heartened by Nutrisystem's timely reply and concern for my purchase. They deserve a second chance. I ordered my month's supply of diet food from Nutrisystem with high hopes. When the food shipment arrived, most of the frozen breakfast items were broken into small bits; when I opened the packages, the bits fell out. Then I tried the frozen lunches. Since I take these to work, the only heating option is microwave. Anything with bread or chicken comes out chewy, gooey, and icy cold in the center.

It actually made me gag and lose my appetite, which wasn't the diet plan I expected. I am very careful when reading agreements, and for this item to be overlooked was no easy feat. To add insult to injury, the obnoxious customer service person on the phone refused to accept my cancellation until she badgered me with questions and hard sell tactics in a desperate attempt to keep me buying their awful food.

I was not happy with that. My first order included items I didn't order and one that I'm allergic to its ingredients. I was told by one person the items were probably substitutions and when ready they would be replaced.

When I called the customer service lady was very rude, basically stated I was lying and wouldn't allow me to speak to a supervisor. The oatmeal is so stale it sticks to the side of the package and had to pour hot water in the bag to get the product out. Chocolate covered pretzels are stale. We did call and the rep was very nice and stated that she couldn't do anything except replace our stale food.
